Solution Architects
In the business of IT Applications, knowledge management is key. Functional knowledge, industry knowledge, best practices, innovations in IT deployment.
The Solution Architecture (SA) group at EINFOWAY addresses this need. This group consists of industry veterans. Its mandate: to improve knowledge acquisition and retention practices, improve functional quality of applications, improve estimation processes and metrics, build applications knowledge through a knowledge base that can be accessed world-wide, and enhance EINFOWAY capabilities in business process consulting.

The SA group has devised processes and practices to address the need to acquire domain expertise and the processes used to retain this knowledge. With knowledge templates, CASE tools, test automation tools and the acquisition process, we have created a powerful framework within which rapid knowledge acquisition and dissemination can take place.

In the area of functional quality, the SA group has laid down processes and standards with respect to requirement analysis, design, system tests and acceptance tests. In addition, for critical projects, the SA group members participate in requirement reviews; design reviews and test plan reviews, ensuring quality of output.

Estimation for projects is also within the ambit of the SA group. For full scope projects, the SA group handles the estimations and participates in the bid process, feeding back this data into standards and norms for effort estimation. In the case of maintenance projects, the SA group reviews all effort data periodically, presenting effort and productivity norms to be applied to the projects. In this way, the customer is able to clearly realize productivity improvements.

The third role played by the SA group is that of business process consulting. Although we view our primary role as vision fulfillment, not vision creation, there are a number of application areas and a specific set of industries, such as CRM, e-business, commercial applications, where our consultants have substantial experience. In these engagements, our solution architects are involved with process redesign, either by themselves or in conjunction with 'Big 5' type firms.
